Jared Gaither has been an epic bust for the San Diego Chargers. Gaither was claimed off waivers from the Kansas City Chiefs during the season and played really well for the remaining games. The Chargers then resigned him to a big four-year, $24.5 million dollar contract. GM Tom Telesco made the decision on Wednesday to cut Gaither even though they would have to take a $6 million dollar hit to the salary cap.
Gaither was given $13.5 million in guaranteed money last season plus a $8 million signing bonus. He only started four games and was continuously questioned by his teammates about his work ethic being nicknamed “The Big Lazy”. Teammates were accusing Gaither was milking a back injury and really did not want to play anymore.
